Yes. It is crucial CMOs and CIOs know how to bridge the gap with digital transformation. For CMS, content is the obvious priority and adapting these new technology solutions with where the market is today saves time, saves pain of having to catch up to competition. Its important to look for CMS that is really fast, real time, trusted, integrated and able to scale. CMS should allow users to focus only on what is important. Change comes fast, solutions should evolve the same.

Re: Right CMS for right effect
As things contuntine to become more complex and where technologies become outdated, less effective and expensive to maintain, those that provide better features, more effective business tools and solution flexibility will become tomorrow's top performers.
@Probir B. Contrary to what you said, CMS has been around for a while now and it's not something new. Many Developers have been using CMS for the companies they work for and have taken advantage with the tools it offers.
Enterprises can definitely use the right CMS to their advantage. All they need to do is hire an expert developer who is familiar with CMS and let him or her advise which platform best fits the company. They can always customize CMS like Joomla and use the tools provided by it.
KrithiS: An excellent point. Customizing templates is required for more large retailers. However once there are a range of appropriate templates, they can be re-used easily. And that is usually preferable so that consumers remain familiar with the "look" of content from a particular company.
Gabrielle: Almost all CMS include SEO as a basic tool -- even the most basic free systems like Joomla, Drupal or WordPress. SEO is important, but the many other capabilities of the more sophisticated content systems out there go far, far beyond -- even providing the ability to deliver custom content to digital signs or emails or the Web simultaneously to different audiences.

Right CMS for right effect
With the growing use of ICT (information and communication technology), consumers are becoming smarter and more knowledgeable. In an era where information can be obtained with some clicks of the mouse, it is important to rely on content. The right content management system (CMS) will not only let the organizations leverage on it to build a data bank but it will also help the company become smarter with customer data. That is important to note, the big retailers and marketers have only one weapon to win the battle- customer data. Right content management solutions help the organizations discern data and offer the most appropriate way to leverage on the information.
CMS is the latest weapon in the hands of CMOs and CIOs to increase ROI. However, since it is a new trend, failures have not been reported yet. I think if we don't know what we exactly tend to know from CMS, or how to leverage on CMS, just using CMS will not help us improve our marketing capabilities. That is why we must learn about the pros and cons of a CMS before utilizing it for greater profitability.
Whilst Content Management Solutions are crucial to the future of web design and marketing, I don't think we should forget about the importance of Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
With more and more people turning to the Internet as a means of shopping, reading the news or locating the best deal, in the contemporary consumer market it is imperative that businesses exploit the Internet to deliver marketing messages and attract customers. If you are the owner of a small or midsized business, having a website that is SEO rich can make the difference in whether or not your business develops and thrives.
In the current financial climate of uncertainty, competition between businesses has never been so intense. Having a quality website that is well-structured and has a healthy scattering of SEO keywords so that when search engines "crawl" will means your company's pages will be picked up, will mean that you will gain an edge of competitors. For small business or midsize business that may be just starting out or are struggling to stay afloat, ranking high on web searches and therefore attracting traffic can literally make the difference between boom and bust.
A complete joomla junkie myself when it comes to web...however for sales prestashop in one of the good ones out here as well. One of the other considerations to make is the availability of modern frameworks within the CMS extension developer community, or your own ablity to create good extensions. This is all about scalability so that in the future you don't have to stay stuck in the past because upgrading is too tedious a task.

CMS to be or not to be?
